DSC_0076Stage 3 of The ENDURrun is the first big test – a 30km cross country course. It’s a big obstacle, and with the morning off tomorrow, runners can push themselves a bit harder than they might otherwise. It is often said that The ENDURrun doesn’t really start until Stage 3.

Winners of today’s stage were Patrick Kelly and Angela Batsford, but neither were able to overtake the leaders. Keeping the gold jerseys for Stage 4 are overall leaders Matt Leduc and Mindy Fleming. Stage 4 is a 10 mile challenge on rural hilly roads. Start time is 6:00pm Wednesday.

This stage saw The ENDURrun’s first 2014 casualty: K Bill Dost, who rolled an ankle on the second loop and was unable to finish. Gutsy performances from all runners led to some very quick times on this course that always seems to be wet. We hope to see Bill again this weekend!

DSC_0729_2In the Relay event, H+P Men’s A1 continues to lead, but H+P Men’s A2 surged into second place with an impressive relay win today from Dave “ENDURdave” Rutherford.

Special mention to Holger Kleinke, who posted the lowest standard deviation lap time today, with splits of 24:43, 24:54, 24:48, 24:27, 24:43, and 24:43!
