Brief recap of Stage 1:

After a year's worth of preparation, for both the organizers and the participants, the starting gun sounded and The 4th Annual ENDURrun was off and running. A new ENDURrun champion will be crowned after the next 160 km!

Today’s cooler weather was a welcome relief for the runners from the recent stifling heat. Bright sun, clear skies and low humidity made for ideal running conditions.

For the first 8 km, mere seconds separated Brad Cunningham and Bob Jackman. A surge by Brad increased his lead, which held to the finish. Brad captured victory in Stage 1 by 35 seconds and will have the honour of wearing the Gold Jersey for Stage 2. Congratulations Brad and Bob on your fine and exciting performance.

It was evident that Jeff, Chris and Steve have their own personal goals and strategies, which will definitely lead to some exciting finishes in the next Stages.

In the Relay, Kevin Beatty once again has given the Runners’ Choice Distance Dude’s a commanding lead after Stage 1 with a tremendous time of 1:12:19. Congratulations also to Trudy McCormick of the Runners’ Choice Distance Divas. Good luck to your next Relay team members.

We had seven Guest runners participate today, and we hope they enjoyed experiencing Stage 1 of The ENDURrun. Best wishes for your next challenge. Great effort today!

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the dedicated volunteers, the race execution went very well, and was greatly appreciated by all participants.

Once again, congratulations to all participants in The 4th Annual ENDURrun and thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors for their great support.

Good luck in Stage 2 tomorrow, a 15 km time trial in Riverside Park, Cambridge, Ontario.
