Recap of Stage 6:
With yesterday’s bad weather and difficult course over with, today’s great weather and short, flat course was a welcomed relief for the participants. Cool, overcast, a tailwind, on a flat point-to-point route, with an overall drop in elevation made for perfect running conditions. Being a time trial, would the participants use this Stage as a recovery and rest Stage, or as an opportunity to move up in the overall standings? The eventual answer was, both.
April Boultbee certainly did not take this Stage easy, and ran to a 1st place finish in Stage 6. This moved April into 3rd place overall, now ahead of Adam. Tim Clarke finished 2nd today, running comfortably, and further solidifying his 2nd place overall standing. Melanie Boultbee also ran a fast, tactical race and finished in 3rd place today while moving up over 5 minutes on Adam who is sitting in 4th place overall. Mike Strano seemed content to take it easy today, not wanting to jeopardize the next Stage, the marathon. Both Mike and April will be wearing the Gold jersey for the 7th and final Stage tomorrow.
Other than the normal physical effects expected at this Stage of The ENDURrun, all participants are in great spirits.
Guest runners Dorothea Schramm and Ying Guo were welcomed participants today and we hope they had fun.
Trevor Feeney of the Runners’ Choice Distance Dudes Relay team ran the fastest leg of the Relay teams, but heading into the final Stage, the Investors Group Relay team has a comfortable lead.
Congratulations to every participant for having run so far and so great. Witnessing your perseverance has been inspirational for everyone. Best of luck tomorrow, as the exciting 3rd Annual ENDURrun concludes.
