DSC_0907 - CopyStage 6 of The ENDURrun is a deceptively tough test: how hard would you push a 10k the day before a marathon? How fast can you push the day after the Stage 5 hills?

It’s a time trial start, which means that each runner starts one minute after the previous runner, in reverse order of the cumulative standings. This means that the gold jerseys start closer to 9:00 than 8:00.

The men’s event saw the fourth stage winner of the competition, Christian Belair. Overall, Matt Leduc increased his lead to 3:28 over Patrick Kelly. Mindy Fleming placed first in this stage, and now leads Angela Batsford by 23:14 overall.

DSC_0304 - CopyIn the relay competition, no places changed, with H+P Men’s teams holding the top two spots and the RC Ramblers rounding out the podium. In the sport competition, Vince Charbonneau won Stage 6 and cut deep into Jeff Martin’s overall lead from Stage 5.

Now there is only a marathon to go…

The ENDURrun was glad to see Sean running the 10k as a Guest, after he was forced to withdraw from the Sport competition yesterday, and very happy to see Kelly back marshalling in Elmira! Unfortunately, Jack was unable to start this stage but will Guest run the marathon on Sunday.
